Paul Foster showing us some C# code on the big screen in Visual Studio 2010.

Charlie Kindel who worked on Windows NT gives us the background to the new Windows 7 mobile – WP7 (Windows Phone 7). Here he is telling us that anyone who can do Silverlight and XNA can now make applications for the new WP7 (Windows Phone 7) phones because that is what they use as well as c sharp to program them.

Ingo Rammer tells us that multi cores can process threads, when the code is set to do that, independently. But each core tends to run slower to conserve heat. Shoed us a 128 core system which drew gasps from audience.

Here Ingo Rammer is doing some timing tests to explain multi core and multi threading concepts and how Visual Studio 2010 improves App performance by utilising each core effectively.

Mike Taulty tells us that Silverlight will be used in mobile Apps but not in the browser. He then took us for a drive round the code for WP7 (Windows Phone 7) mobile Apps – toast, tiles and other goodies. All looks easy and fast to develop with Express or Visual Studio 2010.

Mike Taulty shows us the nitty-gritty of a hello world App on a WP7 (Windows Phone 7) mobile phone App. In this case he manages to get a rabbit to appear out of a hat by pressing a button. Cleverly the type of hat changed as well

Nexus Android Calendar
March 13, 2010
The Nexus One calendar synchronizes with your Gmail calendar well. You must have a calendar in Gmail (see below) and the two sync together provided you have set it up in Nexus ‘Geberal Sync Settings’ – this is under the App called ‘Settings’ – easy.
If you add a google maps URL, eg http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=80+Edgware+Road in the where section of the calendar then you can click this in the Nexus and up comes google maps magically on the PHONE ![]()
